Speaker Meelad Moaphi
Associate Producer, Concrete Valley
Meelad Moaphi is a BFA ('10) and MFA ('19) graduate of York University's Film Production program. Born in Iran, Meelad spent most of his childhood in Japan before settling in Canada, having also worked in Spain in between. His short film credits include ARRHYTHMIA (2009), REPUBLIC OF GOD (2010), A SCENE (2018), and WORTH (2019) which have screened and collected awards at festivals across Canada and abroad, such as the International Film Festival Rotterdam, Filmets Badalona, International Izmir Short Film Festival, Toronto Reel Asian, and Air Canada's EnRoute. Meelad was Associate Producer on Antoine Bourges' feature, CONCRETE VALLEY, which premiered at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival. He is currently in development for HIS FATHER'S SON, his directorial debut which in 2022 was selected for Telefilm Canada's "Talent to Watch" funding. Meelad is also a full-time professor at Humber College's Bachelor of Film and Media Production department.
