Speaker Taisa Dekker
Taisa Dekker is passionate about the screen-based industries and the promotion of Canadian artists and creators. She got her start working on productions in Calgary, Alberta and graduated from SAIT Polytechnic's Cinema, Television, Stage and Radio program. Taisa’s 17-year career with ACTRA began at the Alberta branch, where she was the Commercial Business Representative. Since relocating to Toronto, she has held positions at ACTRA Performers’ Rights Society and in multiple departments at ACTRA Toronto, the largest branch of the union. Taisa holds a certificate in Strategic Public Relations as well as the Osgoode Certificate in Entertainment Law. As the Manager of Industry Initiatives & Outreach at ACTRA Toronto, Ms. Dekker advocates for the engagement of union performers on all types of content, including film, web series, video games, audiobooks, and commercials.
