Eagle Vision

Rebecca Gibson is a partner in Eagle Vision and Head of Development. Following graduation from the New York Film Academy, a CFTPA International Internship took Rebecca to Los Angeles at the start of her film career. As a writer, director, producer, and actor, Rebecca’s work in documentary, drama, and comedy has played in festivals, in theatres, and on TV screens around the world. Credits include her ACTRA Award-winning role in The Pinkertons (Netflix); co-writing and producing Danishka Esterhazy's award-winning drama H&G, which had a retrospective screening at the TIFF Lightbox; and writing and directing the award-winning comedy Hard Way Girl which has played festivals around the world. Rebecca was co-creator, executive producer, showrunner, a writer, and director for four seasons of the series Taken (APTN/CBC), for which she won a Beyond Borders Media Award and was nominated for three CSAs. She was a director on the international award-winning #SacredMMIWG social action campaign that reached over 1/3 of all Canadians.

Currently Rebecca is producing Madison Thomas’ feature Finality of Dusk, co-written by Thomas and Katarina Ziervogel. Rebecca co-created the factual series 7TH GEN for APTN, which she is currently executive producing and showrunning, and writing and directing on. She is also currently in post for the comedy web series DJ Burnt Bannock for APTN (Executive Producer, Showrunner, Director. Supported by the Bell Fund). She is also leading development on several projects, and is working with companies around the world developing projects together including the recently greenlit drama series The Red (with Halfire Entertainment/CBC), The Rush (with Rous House in South Africa), and Black Star (eOne).

Rebecca is devoted to mentorship, working with the CMPA, ACTRA, WIDC, among several other organizations to support diversity, accessibility, and inclusion. Rebecca founded Orange Daisy Project, a social action campaign in support of mental health for teen girls. She was honoured nationally as a CAMH Difference Maker and was ACTRA Manitoba's 2018 Woman of the Year.
