Canadian Independent Screen Fund

Sally is Executive Director of the Canadian Independent Screen Fund for Black and People of Colour Creators (CISF), the country’s only dedicated For Us, By Us fund governed and operated by the Black and racialized creators it serves.

Sally has overseen CISF’s administration of the Rogers-BSO Script Development Fund since 2021 and its approval as a Certified Independent Production Fund by the CRTC in 2022. Prior experience includes serving as ED at the Reel Asian International Film Festival and artist’s rights organization CARFAC Ontario, and senior management positions at TIFF, Soulpepper Theatre Company, and Workman Arts, an arts and mental health organization which runs the Rendezvous With Madness Festival.

She currently sits on the Boards of the Toronto Arts Council, the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival, and Wavelengths Music, and has served in staff, board, committee, and consulting capacities at the Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto, the Canadian Filmmakers Distribution Centre, the Images Festival, the Independent Media Arts Alliance, the Toronto Arts Council, Access Copyright, Reelworld Screen Institute, the Coalition of Canadian Media Arts Distributors, and the Toronto Biennial of Art.
